Goldthwaite
Crossroads of Central and West Texas
Also
called the Gateway to Hill Country Goldthwaite is located near the
center of the state. Home to the famous Regency Bridge featured on the 2000 Texas
Highways map. Named the County Seat of Mills County in 1889, Goldthwaite watched
its courthouse burn in 1912. Rebuilt the following year it is still in use today.
With a sound economic base and an efficient city government Goldthwaite has much
to offer; a beautiful city park, swimming pool, golf course, camping areas, a
wealth of strong churches and a number of civic organizations. The historic jail
houses the chamber of commerce along with law enforcement artifacts and tours.
Most services found in larger cities can be found in Goldthwaite making it a great
place to live, work and play. While Goldthwaite has many attributes, its greatest
asset is its people. Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 308, Goldthwaite TX 76844, 915-648-3619,
