Goldthwaite
GATEWAY TO THE HILL COUNTRY
Goldthwaite
is home to the famous Regency Bridge featured on the 2000 Texas Highways map.
Named the County Seat of Mills County in 1889, Goldthwaite watched its courthouse
burn in 1912. Rebuilt the following year it is still in use today. With a sound
economic base and an efficient city government Goldthwaite has much to offer;
a beautiful city park, swimming pool, golf course, camping areas, a wealth of
strong churches and a number of civic organizations. The historic jail, 1001 Fisher
Street, is the home office for the Mills County Chamber of Commerce and also houses
an office for the 911 and WAV project. Most services found in larger cities can
be found in Goldthwaite making it a great place to live, work and play. While
Goldthwaite has many attributes, its greatest asset is its people. Mills County
is the Meat Goat Capital of America. Chamber of Commerce, 1001 Fisher St., PO
